As of yesterday, Grindr employees are officially out of the closet and forming a union with the Communications Workers of America! |
At Grindr, the leading LGBTQIA+ dating app in the U.S., workers are joining together to form Grindr United to ensure Grindr remains a safe, inclusive and thriving place for both its users and employees. “Through our union we will preserve and expand the things we love about Grindr, like trans-inclusive healthcare and remote work options. Additionally, we seek clear protections against layoffs in the midst of an evolving industry. Lastly, we want to foster a workplace where everyone can speak up without fear of retaliation and find opportunities for career growth. Together, we're committed to creating a stronger, more inclusive Grindr for workers and users,” said Ruby Anaya, principal product manager and member of Grindr United. With 297 anti-LGBTQ bills currently introduced in the United States, now, more than ever, the workers at Grindr believe it is crucial to stand united and push back against these assaults on equality and inclusivity. Worker's Song by Dropkick Murphys Yeah, this one's for the workers who toil night and day By hand and by brain to earn your pay Who for centuries long past for no more than your bread Have bled for your countries and counted your dead We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die The first ones in line for that pie in the sky And we're always the last when the cream is shared out For the worker is working when the fat cat's about And all of these things the worker has done From tilling the fields to carrying the gun We've been yoked to the plough since time first began And always expected to carry the can |
